AS Elections Board Co-Chair John Paul Renteria states that only 612 people have voted in the Winter Special Election for an External Vice President of Statewide Affairs. Renteria urged the student population to get out and vote.

There is a resolution to permanently suspend the orders of Senate and allow the public to speak at public forum right after attendance/acceptance of proxies for the rest of the 2018-2019 Senate.

Authored by Off-Campus Senators Dallin Mello and Christian Ornelas, the resolution will kick off the formation of a committee working towards implementing a $15 minimum wage for ASUCSB employees.

AS Senate is considering the resolution condemning the rise of White Supremacy in all forms. Authored by On-Campus Senator Zion Solomon and Off-Campus Senators Dallin Mello, the resolution directs Senate to condemn the rhetoric of White Supremacy.

The resolution also requires that Senators attend counter-racism events at least once a quarter. Authors of the resolution state that the resolution also seeks to make Associated Students a comfortable and safe place for groups who are victims of White Supremacy.

External Vice President of Local Affairs Jeike Meijer gave an executive report. The office is doing an Adopt-A-Block event tentatively this Saturday. On Feb. 7, the office will be hosting a bystander intervention training event. Check out their Facebook page for more information.
