Advertising Policy Brief

Ad Content: Advertising is subject to approval by TBL’s Editorial Board. TBL reserves the right to reject any advertising that is deemed inappropriate, unsuitable, and that goes against our community guidelines.

Reservations: The deadline for advertising is Thursday by 12 p.m. to run an ad in The Bottom Line issue released on the next Wednesday morning. Contact us to reserve ad space. You will be provided with further instructions about ad submission and payment information according to your organization/business.  Specific page reservations may be reserved for an additional charge contingent on issue.

Payment: We offer different payment methods and offers according to your organization/business. Invoices will be provided upon request. 

  • For A.S Groups: Because TBL is part of Associated Students at UCSB, we provide an easy and trackable payment method between A.S Groups. Our sales representatives will provide The Bottom Line’s Requisition form to you directly. TBL only requires your organization’s AS account number, date of funding approval, and two authorized signers.

* Note: Any group with an OSL Account Number can create an AS Account by visiting the AS Admin Office anytime from 9am-5pm M-Friday. Any UCSB affiliated entity (department, club, etc.) Any group can create an OSL Account by visiting the OSL Office in the Student Resource Building (SRB) on campus. Check out this video for more information on A.S Requisition Forms.

Cancellation: Ads must be cancelled the Monday before the issue is released by 12 pm. Depending on your organization/business, TBL has different strict policies. For external groups, if ad is cancelled after deadline, 50% of the ad’s cost will be charged. For A.S groups, TBL will provide credit for running ads in later issues. Running credits expire after 3 months/a quarter.
