A.S. Attorney Ron Perry gave a report on the legal services available to the Immigrant and Undocumented students community at UCSB. According to Perry, the office addresses a need that students have been asking for on campus; their services include paying for DACA renewal fees.

Robin Unander, an attorney with the A.S. Legal Resource Center, gave a report on the legal resources available to students on campus. Students in need of legal advising can contact their office at (805) 893-4246 or in their office on
the second floor of the Pardall Center.

Student Advocate General (S.A.G.) Grecia Martinez also gave a report on the S.A.G.’s office progress and current projects. Martinez stated that one of the office’s main goal is to make legal resources more accessible to students.

There is a resolution to address textbook affordability, written by Off-Campus Senators Carla Cernat and Christian Ornelas. The resolution supports CALPIRG in the creation of a grant that would compensate faculty for switching to open source books.

Open source textbooks are free and public available to everyone, and the switch to them would greatly lower the financial burden on students, according to the resolution's student sponsor.

There is a resolution to task L&S Senator Ricardo Uribe to assist Queer Commission in the planning of the Queer and Trans People of Color Conference.

There is a bill to update Article Three, Section One, Subsection B of the By-Laws, written by L&S Senators Ricardo Uribe and Xochitl Briseno. The bill gives clear definitions on a Senator’s responsibility to their constituents.

Written by Off-Campus Senator Christian Ornelas and On-Campus Senator Melissa Perez, this resolution supports the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization, United Nations Human Rights Council, and the Paris Climate Accords.

Authored by Off-Campus Senator Christian Ornelas and Dallin Mello, this resolution updates Article IX of the By-laws of A.S. to create the A.S. Environmental Justice Alliance. This resolution creates a new Boards, Commissions, and Units to champion environmental justice on campus

According to Ornelas, the resolution addresses the involvement and inclusivity of marginalized communities in environmental activism. The resolution stresses the intersectional and non-exclusive nature of environmental justice.

A.S. President Brooke Kopel gave an executive’s report during public forum, stating that progress is moving on the development of “The King’s A+ For Excellence Awards.” The award will reward five student leaders who each exhibit academic excellence with $500 each.
