A.S. President Brooke Kopel plans to meet next week with the UCSB architect, Director of Administrative Services, and the Director of the A.S. Bike Shop to go over the opportunity of making the bike shop a permanent space. Currently, the bike shop isn’t in a permanent location.

A.S. President Brooke Kopel reports that the Committee on Committees has finished its Judicial Council member review process and is sending 7 recommendations to Kopel’s office. The final nominees will be recommended to A.S. Senate by Kopel.

GSA Student Affairs Vice President Jennifer Selvidge is resigning due to Selvidge’s Title IX report. The University of California Office of the President has informed Selvidge that Selvidge’s Title IX report was a “harmful representation of policy” and requested for a retraction.

“Studies have shown that ACT and SAT is not an accurate reflection of talents and they discriminate against low income students,” said Senator Lea Toubian.

Isabelle Sato, the representative for Innovation Council, introduces IC as an organization designed to connect innovations in research to students who have the drive to change the world. There is an upcoming IC summit event that will focus on renewable energy and sustainability.

A.S. Elections Board Chairs John Paul Renteria and Davis Quan report that there will not be an EVPSA until the Spring 2019 elections. However, Renteria mentions that Elections Board will discuss possible next steps such as a petition for a Winter Quarter Special Elections.

Attorney General Zeina Safadi reminds A.S. Senate to include closed sessions on the agenda in the future, citing the Brown Act which guarantees the public's right to attend meetings of local legislative bodies in the national, state and university level.
