Despite declarations to bring three times as many peers, student protesters are a no-show at the UC Board of Regents Meeting at UCSF, Mission Bay this morning.

According to UCSF Chief of Police Pamela, an estimated 300 students came from across the UC system yesterday to rally against the possible 8 percent tuition increase for students.

The vote for the increase will be held today.

The empty courtyard before the Community Center doesn’t phase UCPD officers, who stand at the ready for any rally.

“Officers were prepared yesterday and are just as prepared today, but as the vote happens in ten minutes, I don’t know if there will be any protesters,” said UCPD Public Information Officer Lynn Tearony.
