On January 31, UCSB hosted a candlelight vigil for the Indian rape victim that died on December 29th. UCSB students held a rally at the bike loop in front of Storke, protesting against rape. Then, many UCSB students as well as the South Asian Students Association and professor Kum-Kum Bhavnani held a silent vigil from the Ucen to the eternal flame. As the sun set, they lit candles and reflected over the young life that was lost in India. Long after the dusk set in, they blew out their candles and parted ways.
