Galentine’s Day

Just as the fall quarter has Friendsgiving, the winter quarter has Galentine’s Day. On Sunday, Feb. 15, my roommates and I planned an evening of food and fun!

We decorated a gingerbread house — leftover from the holidays, I might add — dying the frosting pink and using conversation hearts as decor. We also made sure to buy plenty of flowers. And I mean plenty. With a Whole Foods cake and Trader Joe’s heart-shaped macarons, our spread was set.

Of course, the night wouldn’t have been complete without fun mocktails and chocolate-dipped strawberries. For the main course: heart-shaped pizzas. Some of them nearly exploded in the oven (oops), but the homemade dough and fresh toppings made up for it.

We ended the night with the rom-com Two Weeks Notice. In the spirit of enjoying each other’s company, though, I don’t think any of us actually paid attention to the movie.

No matter the holiday or occasion, there’s always a reason to spend it with your best gal-friends.
