UC Santa Barbara (UCSB) students can now apply for a COVID-19 relief grant. The grant was created by the Associated Students (AS) Human Rights Board, the External Vice President for Statewide Affairs, and AS Lobby Corps to support undergraduate students who have been impacted by the virus. The AS president also employed the AS COVID-19 Response Task Force to make the grant possible.
Students who previously applied for an AS COVID-19 Grant and received a grant during the fall or winter quarter are ineligible. The board is offering grants on a need basis with a maximum request of $750 that the response task force distributes.
Students who are applying for the AS COVID-19 Grant this spring must show detailed proof of expenses and must complete the form. Forms are now available to fill up online and any questions can be addressed to hrbcochair@as.ucsb.edu. Applications are due on April 16 at 11:59 p.m.
The UCSB Financial Crisis Response Team offers more resources for students who are experiencing a financial crisis such as rent payments, down payments, utility payments, or food insecurity. Students are able to contact the UCSB Financial Crisis Response Team via email and will be asked questions about their financial crisis/situation. An advisor will be provided for the process. Check out the website for more information.
