Around 9:00 a.m. on the morning of Oct. 20, a passerby discovered the body of a college-aged, caucasian male near the surf line east of the Camino Del Sur beach access in Isla Vista, according to Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Office public information officer Kelly Hoover.

The identity of the deceased individual is being withheld until a positive identification is made and next of kin notified. The Isla Vista Foot Patrol (IVFP) is currently investigating the circumstances surrounding his death.

A preliminary investigation confirmed that the death occurred recently and that there were “no obvious signs of foul play.”
