The trail that goes right just before Sands has this peculiar looking tree that has been bent by the wind to form kind of a window to look out through at the ocean and horizon. It reminds me of a keyhole in its shape and it always catches my eye when I walk past. 
If you continue walking along, you will reach Devereux Slough, a protected natural habitat in the process of restoration. There are a myriad of birds and plants like the Lycoris squamigera or the pink Resurrection Lily, which blooms in late summer. It looks lovely around sunset. 
Along DP, there are these small parks tucked between houses that look out into the ocean. This one is called Window to the Sea and has a wooden swing that you can relax in with a friend as you watch the waves. 
In the Music department right next to Lotte Lehmann Hall is a nice courtyard with huge shade trees and ferns that bring a lot of life to the surrounding buildings. You can see and hear Storke Tower, and maybe catch music coming from nearby practice rooms. 
All the way at the back of the arts building is this roof that overlooks the lagoon. It is especially magical during that special time of day to see the golden light reflect off of the water and glass windows. 
If you walk between the lagoon and the beach there are many trees and plants. According to legend, one of them used to have a platform and hole in the branches that you could sit up in and look out to the ocean. The platform has since been taken down and there is a rather unstable pallet in its place. The tree is still climbable however and can be a nice spot to sit in the quiet and just get away. Treezus. Near campus point there is a muddy trail next to the lagoon, which leads to a big tree that has all kinds of artwork, including this beautiful rendering of Jesus. Also a great tree for climbing. 10/10. Wayyyyy past Harder stadium at the end of the parking lot is this garden and greenhouse which is open to the public, so long as you don’t take or tamper with anything. Greenhouses are just *chefs kiss* and seeing the last sunlight grace the windows is a special moment you don’t want to miss.
