The Associated Collegiate Press Pacemaker Awards, which first began in 1927, nominated 43 newspapers as finalists for a 2017 Pacemaker Award and 10 stories for Feature Story of the Year. Of the 43 collegiate newspapers, 23 were selected for the 2017 Pacemaker Award.
